Question: Who is my Chicago Alderman?
Knowing the name and contact information of your alderman is an important part of living in Chicago.
You can contact your alderman with your neighborhood and city government questions and concerns. Your alderman is supposed to help you iron out problems in your neighborhood and keep your community running smoothly. That's not always the case, but that's the idea.
Answer: Chicagoans can quickly identify their alderman by typing their address into a database called Civic Footprint. The search engine was created as a public service by the Chicago-based non-profit Center for Neighborhood Technology. It also gives contact information for every alderman.
